Santa is arriving on our roof tonight!
Beginning at 6:00 p.m., gather at the Salem Common and here at the Hawthorne Hotel to watch Salem's fire department escort Santa off the roof of the hotel via their ladder truck.                                                             
A procession will then continue down the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall for the Holiday Tree Lighting at Lappin Park.

On November 27, 1965, Detroit Red Wing Gordie Howe scores his 600th goal in a game against the Montreal Canadiens. He was the first (and the last, until Wayne Gretzky) NHL player to score 600 times in his career. He’d broken the previous record–544 goals, set by the legendary Canadien Maurice “Rocket” Richard–in November 1963.
