Random Act of Kindness

Many of you have read little things here and there that exhort one to do a "random act of kindness" and I personally believe that doing things like this is just part of being a human.  I certainly love to hear about something like this when it involves our team at the Hawthorne Hotel.

This post on our FaceBook page, put there by the recipient of one of those kind acts, tells a sweet story.  Can you just picture this happening in our hotel?  I know I can!

Thank you kindly to your desk staff! This morning, like every morning, my three year old daughter and I were walking to daycare, but not even halfway through our route, my daughter started crying because her hands were freezing. The only place I could think of that was nearby that would be open was the Hawthorne --- we were already on Washington Sq and I knew we wouldn't get as far as the pedestrian walk without her becoming even more upset by the cold. The desk staff kindly let us wait in the lobby until my daughter's hands warmed up and even gave her some hot chocolate from the restaurant. We were both so very thankful for those few minutes and it made the rest of the walk past the train station so much better. My daughter repeatedly talked about the "nice people at the green hotel who were nice to me." It's these little acts of kindness that have made this winter bearable, and next time my husband and I have a date night, it will be at your restaurant. Thank you again!

I hope to see you here.
