What’s Happening in Salem this week
The Peabody Essex Museum presents Branching Out: Trees as Art, an exhibition in the museum’s Art & Nature Center that explores the often unexpected ways in which contemporary artists use trees as an inspiration and a medium. Made from bark, wood, roots, seedpods, leaves, fossilized resin (amber) and biosignals, more than 35 varied works and a selection of hands-on interactive opportunities ask us to consider our relationship with trees as a vital natural force.

VIP of the Day
The Hawthorne Hotel would like to welcome their VIP of the day Shirley Merkert!

Flags of the Day

This Day in History
On this day in 1942, coffee joins the list of items rationed in the United States. Despite record coffee production in Latin American countries, the growing demand for the bean from both military and civilian sources, and the demands placed on shipping, which was needed for other purposes, required the limiting of its availability.

I hope to see you here!
