September Full-Time Employee of the Month

Earlier this week we awarded the full-time employee of the month award to Ramon Jerez-Hernandez who is one of our mainstay cooks in culinary department.  Ramon is our lead breakfast cook, and he does such a great job for all of us.  In addition he often cooks the staff meal, and I can attest that our employees are always happy when Ramon does the honors for them.

In addition to being a great cook, Ramon is also a very dependable person.  We always know that he will arrive on time and the restaurant will consequently be open and ready to serve even the earliest-of early risers.  

 Here you see our Executive Chef, Steve Nelson, explaining to Ramon and the assembled staff just exactly why he was chosen for this honor.
Since English is not Ramon's first language, the nuances of what Steve, Claire and I had to say to Ramon were carefully translated for him by Jasmina Conley of our Dining Services Management Team.  The speeches touched us all, including and especially Ramon.


 After the speeches came some hugs!




 And then we adjourned to the Grand Ballroom for a more formal photo.
