Guest Newsletter for Wednesday, October 8
Here is the Hawthorne Guest Messenger for Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
Join the Peabody Essex Museum for Branching out: Trees as Art
This exhibition explores the often surprising ways in which contemporary artists use trees as an inspiration as well as a medium of their art. Made with bark, root, wood, seedpods, leaves and bio signals, over varied works and a selection of hands-on interactive opportunities ask us to re consider our relationship with trees as a vital natural force.

What’s Happening in Salem this week
Salem TV & Movie Walking Tour
October 7th 2pm – 3pm, 8 Central St,
$10 per adult/$8 per seniors/$6 per children
Salem has worked its way into Hollywood as hundreds of TV shows and movies have referenced our witch hysteria and many have been shot here in our wonderful city. You'll be surprised which movies were here and they are not all about our notorious past. They’ll bring you around to the locations and name the TV show or movie as well as the actors and what they did.
VIP of the Day
The Hawthorne Hotel would like to welcome their VIP of the day, Robert Vanhoutte!

The first transcontinental air race in the United States begins, with 63 planes competing in the round-trip aerial derby between California and New York. As 15 planes departed the Presidio in San Francisco, California, 48 planes left Roosevelt Field on Long Island, New York.
I hope to see you here!
