Here is the Hawthorne Guest Messenger for Thursday, October 9, 2014.
Join the Peabody Essex Museum for Branching out: Trees as Art
This exhibition explores the often surprising ways in which contemporary artists use trees as an inspiration as well as a medium of their art. Made with bark, root, wood, seedpods, leaves and bio signals, over varied works and a selection of hands-on interactive opportunities ask us to re consider our relationship with trees as a vital natural force.

This Day in History
On this day in 1967, socialist revolutionary and guerilla leader “Che” Guevara, age 39, is killed by the Bolivian army. The U.S.-military-backed Bolivian forces captured Guevara on October 8 while battling his band of guerillas in Bolivia and assassinated him the following day. His hands were cut off as proof of death and his body was buried in an unmarked grave.
I hope to see you here!
