Yankee Magazine Writes About a Part of the Hawthorne Hotel

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will have already read a couple of articles that I have written about the Salem Marine Society cabin which exists on the roof of the Hawthorne Hotel.  I can assure you, however, that the article which is linked to this blog post is much more interesting to read, and I would highly recommend you do just that.

It was published this month in Yankee Magazine, and came to our attention the day it hit some friends' mailboxes.  We immediately reached out to the magazine, and they have given us permission to share this link with you, fair blog readers -- so just click on the following link:

Yankee Magazine article about the "ship cabin" on the roof of the Hawthorne Hotel

And for reference photos and video, click on this link to my most recent blog post about this unique place that you cannot visit, except virtually in this way:  Salem Marine Society -- it contains links to the video that we shot with Salem historian Jim McAllister, and the slide show of photos that I shot and put together so that you can get a really close look at all aspects of this special room.

Lastly, here is a scan of an old postcard of the Ship's Cabin, from the Hawthorne Hotel archives.

I hope you enjoy all of this, and I hope to see you here.
