Salem Massachusetts Parks and Green Spaces

Earth Day passed me by this month but I did not want it to go unrecognized on our postings, so I thought I would write about green space in Salem.  Did you know that 450 acres of Salem's approximately 9 square miles of land is held in park land?  There are additional green spaces that are not held by the City of Salem, such as the Ropes Mansion Gardens, the Olde Burying Point Cemetery,  Kernwood Country Club Golf Course, Armory Park (that I wrote about yesterday) as well as all the old cemeteries like Greenlawn Cemetery that are also "green" spaces which actually invite you to stroll among their beautiful trees, along their ponds and other beautiful garden spaces.
