Another Reason to Visit Salem - Harps!

One of the many wonderful things about living in Salem, apart from its rich history, is that there is always something new to discover here. New restaurants and shops pop up, and we have an ever-growing artistic scene.

In February, we had a guest staying with us who had come to Salem with a very special purpose: to purchase a harp. Allie Bernstein, who you can see in the video below, lives in New York City. What we didn't realize--and found out--is that there are very few places in the country where one can purchase a harp, and there are no harp dealers in New York (according to our guests) --but there is one right here in Salem! We had no idea.

Allie and her family had to come all the way to The Harp Connection, located on Congress Street in Salem, just a short walk from the Hawthorne Hotel. You can listen to Allie play in the video below.

I hope you enjoyed listening to Allie play as much as I did.

If you have an interest in purchasing a harp, learning about harps, or how to play, The Harp Connection educates people about the different types of harps and what they are used for. They also offer a state-by-state directory of teachers. Their showroom is open to only one harpist at a time, so they suggest calling ahead. More information about this Salem gem can be found on their website, here:

As always, I hope to see you here!
