Restaurant Week(s) at the Hawthorne Hotel, Nathaniel's

The Salem Chamber of Commerce organizes "Restaurant Week(s)" twice each year, in the Spring and the Fall.  This Spring's week(s) are starting this Sunday, and encompass two weeks (minus the weekends.)

Here is the menu for Nathaniel's at the Hawthorne Hotel, which showcases our regular menu items.  We believe in offering things this way, you can try most of our wonderful menu, while enjoying excellent value-pricing:

choice of Mediterranean white anchovies
or applewood-smoked bacon,
Parmesan cheese and garlic croutons

STEVE’s SEAFOOD CHOWDER
of historic proportion, our well-loved version includes shrimp, scallops, haddock, clams and potatoes in a creamy New England-style soup

MIXED GREENS SALAD
crunchy corn, sliced apples, sage Derby cheese, dried dates and honey-yogurt dressing

CLASSIC WEDGE SALAD
a wedge of iceberg lettuce, applewood-smoked bacon crumbles and diced tomatoes, drizzled with creamy Gorgonzola dressing

WARM SPINACH SALAD
bacon, hard-cooked eggs, sautéed onions and mushrooms with white-balsamic dressing

SHRIMP AND SCALLOPS SOPHIA
Our signature dish, named for Sophia Peabody Hawthorne
sautéed shrimp and seared scallops with sauce Béarnaise,
grilled asparagus, steamed spinach and herbed risotto

SAFFRON-POACHED HADDOCK
crispy purple potato rounds, sweet and sour cabbage,
tomato confit

SEARED SALMON
pomegranate-molasses gastrique,
wilted kale and pine nuts, roasted butternut squash

GRILLED SWORDFISH
pecan- basil-asiago relish, ancient grains and wilted spinach

HAWTHORNE POT ROAST
red wine- and mushroom-liquor,
parsnip-potato purée and roasted carrots

GRILLED PORTERHOUSE LAMB CHOPS
mint julep sauce, herbed potatoes and mustard greens

PORK TENDERLOIN
roasted pear and sage glace,
baby sweet gem potatoes, herbed green beans

PEAR- & PURPLE POTATO SAUTE-STUFFED

wilted mustard greens and pomegranate glaze
