What’s Happening in Salem this week
Santa’s Arrival atop the Hawthorne Hotel
Friday, December 6th at 6pm
Santa arrives in Salem this Friday! A beloved annual tradition, Santa Claus will arrive at the top of the Hawthorne Hotel at 18 Washington Square promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 – with assistance from the Salem Fire Department, of course. Santa’s arrival will be followed by a short stop for cocoa and caroling at the gazebo on the Salem Common. The parade will then continue to Museum Place Mall for pictures with Santa.

Flags of the Day

This Day in History
On December 6, 1884, in Washington, D.C., workers place a nine-inch aluminum pyramid atop a tower of white marble, completing the construction of an impressive monument to the city's namesake and the nation's first president, George Washington.

I hope to see you here!
