Hotel with a Heart

Today Tom Dalton of the Salem News wrote an article that was entitled "Hotel with a Heart" and that title really touched us.  He was writing about the fund-raiser we are doing here on December 4.

The people of the Philippines who were so dreadfully impacted by the recent Typhoon Haiyan will be the beneficiary of that fund raiser which the Hawthorne Hotel has organized, and is sponsoring.  All funds will be given to the American Red Cross and designated for this particular effort.

If you want to help, and have a good time while you are doing so, please consider coming to this event.  We have a great DJ, Patrick Runne, and a live band, The Ward Eights, all of whom have volunteered their time and talent to entertain you.

We have a great photographer, John Andrews, who has also volunteered his time and talent to photograph YOU at this event, so you could wind up on Social Palates and other great Social Media places (only if you want, of course).

Our chefs have volunteered their culinary expertise to create some yummy snacks for you to enjoy.

And there will be door prizes that you will not want to miss, courtesy of the Hawthorne Hotel.

The ENTIRE ticket amount that you pay will be given as the donation.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  Let's pack this room and make that donation meaningful!

This is a great opportunity to socialize, listen to good music, dance if you wish, and generally have a good time by doing some really important good work for your fellow human beings.

If you are not convinced yet maybe this poem will convince you that you could be contributing to what you are doing in your "dash"?

I hope to see you here.
