Holiday Lights

Getting the Hawthorne Hotel ready for the holidays is something that takes a lot of effort every year, but we really do enjoy doing it for our friends, guests and even for our staff.

Here are some photos of what took place here this week:

On Tuesday our electricians, along with the City of Salem electricians, put up more lights in the entry to Salem Common.  Here you can see them working:

On Wednesday, in the pouring rain, our maintenance team of Barry and Wayne put up all the wreaths in all the windows of the Hawthorne Hotel.  It was raining so hard I wimped out and took these from the inside of my office.  Thanks for dealing with this job in the ugly weather, Barry and Wayne!

And here are some photos of the finished product that I took on Wednesday night:

I hope you enjoy yet another look at what we do to make things nice here at the Hawthorne Hotel, and here in Salem.

Today we will be installing all the poinsettias.  Just wait until you see THAT finished product!

Last but not least, if you want to see the lighting of the Salem Holiday Tree, here is that information -- it is happening tonight:

Downtown Salem Tree Lighting

  • 6:30 pm - 7:00pm
  • Lappin Park (Corner of Washington and Essex Streets)
  • Come to Lappin Park (where the Bewitched statue is located) for the Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony.
