Another Very Unusual Function (and Fashion) Menu

One of the things that we all love about our jobs is the opportunity to get creative.  Because we are not a "corporate" hotel, or a franchised property, we have the ability to do things on our own, and we think that makes both working with us, and doing business with us very special.

As you may or may not already know, we are the Preferred Caterer at the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) and as such we usually have the opportunity to handle the catering for their preview parties when they open new exhibits.  We love to create special menus for these events to match the creativity and style of the event that is being opened.

Recently PEM opened "Future Beauty: Japanese Avant-Garde Fashion" and this was the menu, along with some photos, of the food:

Stationed Hors d’ Oeuvres

   Brown Rice Salad with Soy, Ginger and Vegetables

 Fingerling Potato and Edamame M√©lange with Miso Vinaigrette

 Cucumber and Seaweed Salad with Rice Wine Vinaigrette
·        Beef Yakitori with Dried Fig and Green Onion

Passed Hors d’ Oeuvres

·        Okonomiyaki – Mini pancakes of potato, yam, flour, cheese and eggs and served with seaweed flakes, Street Sauce and Worcestershire on the Tray

·        Onigiri – Assorted Stuffed and Plain Rice Balls with and without Nori, Served with Tentsuyu Dipping Sauce and Pickled Ginger Aioli to Include Shrimp, Pickled Plum and Red Bean

·        Karaage Two Ways – Oven Fried Chicken and Tofu Served with Scallion Relish and Gingered Hoisin

·        Chicken Yakitori Two Ways, Chicken Meatballs with Mustard and Shiso and Chicken Breast with Pineapple and Scallion

 Assorted Mini, Savory Ice Cream Cones
