Halloween Costume Contest Winners (and some Finalists and Semi-Finalists too)

Every year one of the highlights of our Annual Costume Party is the Costume Contest.  The competition is TOUGH, which makes being a Judge at this event one of the toughest jobs you will ever love.  And I can assure you that our Judges love this job so much they actually bid for the position through local charities, or otherwise do lots of extra things for the Hawthorne Hotel in order to win a place on The Bench.  We offer our special thanks to our panel of hard-working judges.

Here is this year's panel:
Left to right, Bruce and Heidi Whear, Linda Orlomoski, and Mary Woodcock
This first section is for the Best Theme of the Party.  This year's theme was "Nightmare on Hawthorne Blvd." and we were hoping that people would come up with your worst nightmares.  They did!

Here is the winner, "Your Soul to Take", by Stacey and Tom Waters of Taunton, MA:
Your Soul to Take

Here are the runners' up in the Best Theme Category:

The "Bridge is Out" is some people's worst nightmare.

Clowns are some folks worst nightmare -- how about co-joined clown twins?  Yikes!

The WINNER in the Best Individual or Couple was the "Ironman of Maine", created and worn by Tom Lemieux.  Tom took 5 months to create this amazing costume.

I hope you enjoy seeing all of these fabulously creative costumes.  Every year it seems to get tougher and tougher to pick the winners because so many of our guests get so creative.

We do look for costumes that are put together in unusual ways, costumes that are outside the "norm", ones that display creativity and attention to detail, and ones that are just plain fun.

We gave away a total of $1,700 in cash prizes to the winners and some places in these categories.  The winners got to strut their stuff on our stage to show off to the entire crowd, and also received the adoration of many of our guests before, during and after the competition.

If you have never been to our annual Halloween Bash, you should certainly consider coming here at least once in your life.  It is a party like no other.

I hope to see you here.

Hoping to see all the pictures from the night we were there. My daughter the Pea and her husband the Carrot were not in any of the pictures. We also took a group one. I was Cinderella and my husband the Prince. Hope to see them this week. :) Wonderful job on the photos.
