What’s Happening in Salem this week
Wednesday, October 23rd from 6pm-9pm at the Hawthorne Hotel
According to the newly-published book, “Legendary Locals of Salem” there are many Salemites who qualify as legends. To celebrate the living legends and to honor the historical ones, a book launch party will be held in the ballroom of the historic Hawthorne Hotel. Visitors can mingle, network, enjoy refreshments and cash bar, and just relax in a casual, fun evening of music, art, and the company of the still-living legends of Salem—and the families of those who have passed. The event is free and open to the public.
Flags of the Day
This Day in History
On October 23, 1890, Benjamin Harrison issues a proclamation that extends the northern boundary of Nebraska into the Dakota territory. The decree also declares that all Indian claims to Nebraska territory have been officially "extinguished."
I hope to see you here!
