We Love Our Staff

Here at the Hawthorne Hotel we depend a lot on part-time staffers.  There are such peaks and valleys in what we do, that if we did not have a loyal group of on-call, part-time employees, we would not be the success that we are.

One of those staff members is Jessica Ash.  When she began working for us some 13 years ago, she was single, her name was Jessica Soep, and she worked for us in the banquet department as a coordinator.  She eventually became a full-time member of our Catering Sales Team, and did an excellent job there as well.

As time went by she married, and she eventually left our Catering Team to pursue a new dream, that of becoming a professional hair and makeup stylist.  She went back to school, completed that, and eventually opened her own place, which is doing remarkably well due in no small part to her "can-do" leadership skills.

Also during that time she had a child, but all along she has kept working for us in an on-call capacity, primarily running weddings for us when we are in need of her services in that special niche.

In recognition for all the great work she does for us, we selected and honored her at the Part-time Employee of the Month for August 2013 this past week.  Here are some photos of that award presentation:

Here is Jessica with the members of "her" team for the evening, along with Claire Kallelis, our Assistant General Manager and Food/Beverage Director, at the event Jessica ran for us at the Peabody Essex Museum on Saturday night, August 7.
