One of the Top Ten FAQs

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will have already seen our list of FAQs that we posted here in August.  Hawthorne Hotel FAQs.

However, it occurred to me last week that actually one of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that we get, over the telephone, is this question:  "What is the name of that little Italian restaurant across the street from the Hawthorne Hotel?"  People remember it, but cannot always remember the name.

The answer is "Bella Verona" and it is indeed a little Italian restaurant, consisting of about 30 seats at the most, all very cozily next to each other (my husband and I routinely wind up sharing some kind of information with our dinner mates on either side when we dine there.)

My favorite item on their menu is what I call Italian "comfort food" -- straciatella, which is an Italian chicken soup with egg and Parmesan threads in it.  So delicious!  I also enjoy a chicken salad on their appetizer menu which makes a healthy light dinner.

To make your life easier, in case you want to call Bella Verona for dinner reservations, here is their phone number:  978-825-9911 and here is a link to their website:  http://www.bellaverona.com/

Something you might want to keep in mind -- Bella Verona only has a beer and wine license, so if you enjoy a cocktail before or after dinner, just stop in the Tavern and enjoy your favorite mixed drink, or come on over afterwards if you want to savor a snifter of brandy or other after dinner drink.

We hope to see you here.  Or there.
