Artists and Authors at the Hawthorne Hotel

On February 28, 2013  the Hawthorne Hotel hosted an Open House for Artists and Authors of Salem and the local area.  While this follow-up blog post about it is quite tardy, I thought it was still worth posting.

This event is something we started three years ago, and it has grown and flourished in that time.   Thomas MacDonald of our Sales Team created and organized the event in 2011, and then in 2012 Thomas helped them to become more self-sufficient, and this year Salem Arts Association took it over completely.

However, it is still hosted by the Hawthorne Hotel by our donation of the Grand Ballroom for the evening. We do this in support of the arts in this area, one of the many things we do to help the community.

Jack Walsh’s Fenway Park etched wine bottle -  If you look closely, this box score shows the Red Sox beating the Yankees - and throwing a no-hitter!

A metal bird sculpture courtesy of Screw Loose Studios - I love the barbed wire nest, so creative!

Jack Walsh’s glass sculpture of Man with Butterflies. Next to it, you can see some of Jack's custom etched wine bottles.

Portrait painter Jan Condon with her paintings of dogs.  She specializes in fine art portraits of pets, as well as people and homes.

Be sure to do what you can to support our lovely arts community here in Salem, MA -- it is yet another thing that makes life here so terrific!
