On this day in 1904, Theodore Geisel, known to the world as Dr. Seuss, was born in Springfield, MA. The author and illustrator of books such as “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Cat in the Hat,” Seuss wrote 48 books that combined have sold over 200 million copies worldwide.
