Delicious March Specials in the Tavern

I was able to try all three of the March specials last night in the Tavern, and I must say I was most surprised (in a delightful way) by the trout. If you (like me) are expecting a rainbow trout (which I find somewhat insipid and almost always with bones even when it is supposed to be boneless) you need to try this steelhead trout! It is far different. It is an orange-fleshed fish, not fishy tasting at all, has no bones, and is yummy  in every mouthful. Of course the other specials are all delicious as well, but I really, really liked the trout. I hope you will give it a try.

Three courses for only $15.50 makes this the bargain of Salem, MA for sure!
Chicken Piccata lemon-caper sauce, fettuccini and broccoli
Traditional Boiled Dinner corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes

   Peanut-Encrusted Steelhead Trout chilled piquant-parsley sauce, scallion-mashed potatoes, roasted cauliflower

Sundays through Wednesdays 5 – 10pm   

Each entrĂ©e served with a small mixed green salad with choice of dressing -or- Cup of the Soup of the Day
