Have you tried our Winter Menu in Nathaniel’s yet this season? Featuring our Spinach Ravioli appetizer, served with pine nuts, roasted mushrooms, golden raisins and sage-brown butter sauce, and our Braised Lamb Shank with minted glace, parsnip purée and winter greens, this menu has become a big hit here locally and with our guests! This Saturday, January 5 at 5:30pm, the Grace Church at 385 Essex St will be hosting their Annual 12th Night Celebration. This will be a family event with $10 tickets for adults and $5 tickets for children and seniors, and will feature a roast beef dinner, carol singing, the arrival of the Three Kings and children’s activities. Tickets are available at the Hawthorne Hotel front desk.

The Garden Restaurant at the Peabody Essex Museum is now open year round, Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30AM-2:30PM. For reservations call 978-745-9500 ext. 3118. 

This Day in History: On January 4, 1999, the Euro debuted as the first continental common currency in Europe since Charlemagne’s reign in the 9th Century. 11 countries, including Italy and France adopted the currency.
