Brick Buildings with Bare Trees

This morning as I walked to work I noticed that the bare trees in front of the old Armory building facade at the Salem Visitor's Center looked particularly striking.  Perhaps it was the gloriously blue sky that was creating that special look?  Maybe the angle of the low winter sun creating the shadows on that brick?  Whatever the reason, I really thought it needed to be photographed and shared right here.  I hope you like it?

Then, later in the day I had an errand to run, and on my way back to the hotel I noticed again how the bare winter tree branches looked with the Hawthorne Hotel in the background, so I snapped these photos for you as well, fair blog reader:

I hope you enjoy seeing these photos, and invite you to enjoy Salem in the winter just as much as I do.

There are a number of reasons to visit Salem at this time of the year, including much lower prices for our hotel rooms, much less traffic to deal with, plenty of parking everywhere you go, no lines at the attractions that are open, store clerks in the shops who can give you their undivided attention, and crisp, blue sky days like this one which are such a joy for those of you who like to take photographs, like me!

See you here?
