Sylvester has been with us since early 1986, making him one of the longest-tenured employees here. He has won this award numerous times because he is such a stalwart member of our team. For most of his time here he worked full-time, but recently he semi-retired, and still works for us part-time.
Sylvester is not only a hard worker, but he is a gentleman as well, exemplifying what one of the chefs called "kitchen chivalry" in the most positive of ways. Add to that the fact that he is so well-liked by all the members of the Hawthorne Hotel TEAM, and you have someone we just cannot let go into full retirement.
I hope you enjoy learning more about the members of our staff who make things happen behind the scenes. Sylvester is one such person, who keeps the kitchen prep going and going -- rather like the Energizer bunny!

While it may not look like Sylvester is particularly happy in these photos, we all know he really was, and that he is, as my father used to say, "smiling on the inside" for this recognition.
