The Garden Restaurant at the Peabody Essex Museum is now open year round, Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30AM-2:30PM. For reservations call 978-745-9500 ext. 3118. 

The House of Seven Gables is offering a special tour during the month of December that blends the unique history of the mansion with the little known history of Christmas in Colonial Massachusetts.  This special tour is offered during regular hours in December except during the production of a Classic Christmas.  The hours are as follows: December 1-30 10am-5pm
December 24 & 31 10am-2pm

This Day in History: On December 19, 1917, the National Hockey League, or NHL, opened their inaugural season with the Montreal Canadiens beating the Ottawa Senators 7-4. Hears hoping this anniversary brings good news for the currently locked-out league!
