Guest Newsletter for Thursday, October 18

Here is the Hawthorne Guest Messenger for Thursday, October 18.

Local Notes

Did you know about the Haunted Happenings Carnival? For the rest of October, Salem will be host to Fiesta Shows’ Seasonal Carnival on Derby Street, across the street from The Salem Wax Museum.  Step right up while visiting Salem and act your age somewhere else! Games, rides and all the fun rolled up in one! The Carnival is open from 3pm to 9pm Monday through Friday and from noon until 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

What’s Happening in Salem and the North Shore Today

Tonight at 6:30pm the Peabody Essex Museum will be hosting Not in Kansas Anymore, featuring a screening of the classic Wizard of Oz. Hear about the groundbreaking special effects in the film, enjoy a chef demonstration and tasting, and create your own character out of found objects, just like the Tin Man!

Today from 3:00pm to 7:00pm the Salem Farmers Market will be taking place in nearby Derby Square, right next to the Old Town Hall. Find treats of the season from local farms and food producers, as well as cooking demonstrations and live music.

And as always, check our Facebook page for even more updates and information.

I hope to see you here,

Juli
