Top Five Reasons to Come to Salem this September

Trails and Sails Is Sailing In To Town

Here are the top five reasons you will  not want to miss this excellent annual event, sponsored by the Essex National Heritage Commission:

5.  If you are planning to visit a number of locations, you can register to win one of two Novara hybrid bicycles from REI.  Every time you sign-in you increase your chances of winning.

4.  You get to do unique things all over Essex County

3.  There are a variety of events over the course of two weekends, so you should be able to do some of them even if you are already "busy".

2.  It's Free!  Did I mention totally FREE?!!

1.  You can visit the Salem Marine Society's private "cabin" on the roof of the Hawthorne Hotel, and have a narrated tour of it, something that is not available any other time of the year.  This takes place on Saturday September 22 only, and only three groups of 15 people can go up. (Please note that you must be able to climb one flight of stairs to get from the sixth floor to the cabin.)  The 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 groups will fill up fast, so be sure to come early and get your name on the list.

Maybe you should come for lunch in the Tavern, sign up before you go to lunch, and then you will be all set for your tour?

I hope to see you here.
