The Wayward Petunia

It seems like every so often when we plant the flowers in our planter boxes around the hotel, we get one or two wayward plants of another color. This time we got two of them, and the color is an interesting variegated one. I'm not a botanist, but I guess that the reason for this unusual plant is that the hybridization that created the pretty ivory color of our petunias was not in full force, and the plant tried to get back to its roots, if you will pardon a small pun.

In any case, I thought you would like to see the newest plantings that surround us.  The orange pansies that started out our planting season have gone on to other yards, as they became leggy and were going to seed as the weather has warmed up.  Pansies like cool weather, so wherever they are, they will probably be blooming again in the fall.

I hope to see you here.
