A Day Trip From Salem to Newburyport, MA

The Essex National Heritage Area offers a series of "Photo Safaris" to different areas of Essex County. The photos you see here were the result of my taking one of those safaris today, to Newburyport, MA. The cameras were provided by Olympus through Hunt's Cameras. We had a 45-minute seminar, were loaned brand new digital cameras, and a map, and some guidance along the way, and we walked around Newburyport taking photos. I have to tell you it was one of the most delightful things I have done, and I am pleased to share this photo journey with you here.

If you want to learn more about the upcoming safaris, go to

The Harbor Walk

Shopping in historic Newburyport is such fun!

The downtown is filled with beautiful flowers.
Love the colors!

Public art hiding in an alley, competes with some graffiti on the opposite wall.
Beautiful window boxes everywhere.

Love the Fragrance Bar.  Worth seeking it out at 7 Prince Place.

I hope you enjoy the photos that I had so much fun taking, and that you plan a day trip to Newburyport, MA the next time you are staying with us in Salem.
