A Lovely Anniversary Stay "Thank You"

I just received permission to post this kind email on our blog.  I love the back story!  I hope you enjoy peering over my shoulder to read my mail.

It certainly is interesting to see how long someone remembers poor service and rude staff, and we are delighted that is not what our guests would encounter here, either now, or 25 years ago.

Subject: Our Recent Stay

Juli – My wife and I recently stayed at the Hawthorne once again – our first time was on our honeymoon 25 years ago.

A bit of a backstory if I may:

25 years ago, we were originally scheduled to stay at the Sheraton Tara in Braintree for our honeymoon. After two days there, due to the amazingly poor service and rude staff, we decided to check out, and find somewhere else to stay. Driving north, we decided to check out Salem, a town where my wife had gone with her family as a child.

We saw the Hawthorne, and decided to check in. What a great decision that turned out to be! The staff treated us like we were royalty! Nathaniel’s was being renovated at the time, so we ate in the bar, by the fire each night. Service was amazingly attentive and friendly. It was a fantastic experience, and one we have related to many people over the years. Hence our decision to stay for our 25th this past weekend. I have to say, our anniversary stay was every bit as memorable as our honeymoon. You have an amazing staff, who clearly care about their guests! The food was excellent, and the servers were great! I have a background in the hospitality industry, so I tend to be a bit….. picky…about service! Once again, everything was absolutely perfect!

I just wanted to thank you personally, rather than through a survey, for a fantastic stay, more great memories, and a beautiful weekend. I would like to make reservations for our 50th in 2037…..lol.

Thanks again for such a memorable anniversary!

Sincerely;

Daniel P
