A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

It was a crystal clear day here in Salem and I shot these photos with my latest iPhone.  I hope you enjoy seeing them.  They are of our favorite hotel, with a look at a few of our neighboring structures as well.

The Kensington-Stobart Art Gallery is housed in the Hawthorne Hotel, and is a not-to-be-missed stop for any visitor who enjoys fine art.
To the left, with the columns is the Andrew Safford House, a historic home owned by the Peabody Essex Museum.  Beyond that the dark sandstone structure is the Salem Witch Museum.  To the right beyond the Hawthorne Hotel is the Salem Common.

Right across the street from the Hawthorne is the Crowninshield-Bentley House, which is open for touring as part of the historic homes tour offered at PEM.  To orient you, you can see the Andrew Safford House just beyond the yellow Crowninshield-Bentley House.
I hope you enjoy this pictorial visit to our neighborhood.  I'll post more later this week.

  1. Can't wait to see it all again in person; it's looking quite lovely there in my favorite North Shore place!
