Employee of the Month, January

Yesterday we awarded our Part-Time Employee of the Month Award to Andrew Lisle of our Dining Services Department. 
I loved all these candids of Andy as it dawned on him what we were all doing in his work space, so I put them together into this collage.

As you can see in the photos above, Andy was beyond surprised and delighted when we walked in to Nathaniel's Restaurant where he was diligently finishing up his "side work" from his breakfast shift.  For those of you who are not familiar with the restaurant business, "side work" is the work that needs to be done on the side, in order to get ready for the next meal's service, or the tidying up that must be complete after service is done.

 While Andy has only been with us a short period of time, he has stepped up to the plate remarkably well, learning multiple jobs such as Nathaniel's Breakfast Server, Tavern Server, and Nathaniel's Dinner Server.  He is willing to help out wherever we need him.  It is that kind of willingness to work, his strong work ethic (did I mention he is a transplant from Iowa) and his great attitude that earned him this award. 

We expect it will be the first of many during his career with the Hawthorne Hotel.
