CinemaSalem Showing Salem's "Fifth" Season Well

Here is CinemaSalem's newsletter excerpts for this week.  They are definitely going with the flow of this #Halloween season here in #SalemMA.

We've got four great movies for your viewing pleasure this week at CinemaSalem, including The True 1692 which The Boston Globe described as "a tale of fear so real you can touch it."

Now, on to this week's movie schedule!

Now Playing: Paranormal Activity 3 (R); Footloose (PG13); The True 1692 3D (NR); and Dolphin Tale 3D (PG)!

New this week is Paranormal Activity 3, which has almost, but not quite, made people not love babies. Despite that, it's currently poised atop with an 83% positive rating, thanks to reviews like this in Variety: "Paranormal Activity 3 earns points for its low-key ability to keep viewers primed over long stretches to expect that something very bad, or even worse, may happen at any moment." PA3 will screen on Friday at (2:45), (5:00), 7:00 and 9:40; Saturday at (12:30), (2:45), (5:00), 7:00 and 9:40; Sunday at (12:30), (2:45), (5:00) and 7:00; and Monday-Thursday at (5:00) and 7:00.

Footloose keeps earning raves from the critics, as evidenced by this blurb from the San Francisco Chronicle: "It's a vibrant youth musical that will appeal to audiences who haven't seen the 1984 original. And it has enough charm and life to it to compete with the memory of the earlier version." The film screens on Friday at (2:20), (4:45), 7:20 and 9:50; Saturday at (11:45 AM), (2:20), (4:45), 7:20 and 9:50; Sunday at (11:45 AM), (2:20), (4:45) and 7:20; and Monday-Thursday at (4:45) and 7:20.

The True 1692 has been our biggest draw in October and had several sold-out shows this past weekend. You might want to order tickets in advance! The film will screen on Friday and Saturday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00; Sunday at noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00; and Monday-Thursday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00.

Dolphin's Tale is a winner! Jam!Movies: "Most children's entertainment feels as sugar-addled as their target audience. But Dolphin Tale avoids being either anxious or obnoxious, keeping young moviegoers amused and enthralled the old-school way: with its story and star." New England Movie News: "It may not be a perfect film, but it is an ideal family film." The Boston Globe: "The result is an excellent family film - maybe not up to 1996's "Fly Away Home'' in the kid-helps-wildlife genre but eye-opening and heartwarming and sensibility-expanding all the same."

Dolphin Tale 3D will screen on Friday at (1:40), (4:00), 6:30 and 9:00; Saturday at (11:15 AM), (1:40), (4:00), 6:30 and 9:00; Sunday at (11:15 AM), (1:40), (4:00) and 6:30; and Monday-Thursday at (4:00) and 6:30.

Wait a minute! Is that a shadow on the door?!!

I hope to see you here, in the Tavern, before or after the show.
