The terrific part is how much in love they still seem, and you can see it in these photos.
Jim and Ruth Teague, of San Jose, California, were married at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1953, and had their reception in our Grand Ballroom.
Today, Ruth's younger sister, Barbara LaCombe and her husband Richard, surprised Ruth and Jim by bringing them back to the Hawthorne Hotel for a trip down memory lane, as well as a nice lunch in our Tavern Restaurant. By the way, Barbara was a junior bridesmaid in that wedding, at the tender age of nine.
Their server, Debbie Stephanides found out what they were up to, and let me know so I could take their photos and let the world know about just how happy we are to welcome couples back to the hotel.
