YazBerry is a Cool New Eclectic Shop in Salem

Virginia's business card declares "YazBerry will leave people asking you where you got it!" There is no doubt that describes exactly the reaction you will get when you wear one of her retro-inspired pieces of clothing or jewelery.

This cute, tiny shop, located in Artist's Row (a little alley of similar businesses located between Front and New Derby Streets, just after Central Street) is brand new this summer. Before opening it, Virginia would sell her wares on Etsy.com.

I accidentally discovered the shop because of the way I scan Twitter, and so I had to drop by to check it out. I didn't leave without buying a few things, because I truly cherish unique items such as the ones she makes.

These barrettes are each unique, and lovely. They kind of look like small pieces of beautiful wearable sculpture for your hair.

Purses, pins, cuffs, barrettes, necklaces, obi ties, and more.

Most items in the store carry their own story. Just ask Virginia and she will tell you her inspiration for whatever it is you are considering.

Each item is a one-of-a-kind, unique wearable piece of art.

Meet Virginia Berry, proprietor and designer of Yaz Berry. Be sure to tell her "Hi, from Juli at the Hawthorne Hotel" when you stop by.

I hope to see you here (or there!)

Juli
