Hawthorne Hotel Wins Mass Lodging Association Award for Diversity
Last month the Hawthorne Hotel won the first award that the Massachusetts Lodging Association has ever given out for Diversity in the Workplace. The photo above shows (right to left) Caitlin Curry, the program manager of this program at Salem High School, along with our student intern, Charlie, and our Chef, Steve Nelson, with the award.
This program allows post-graduation special needs students to work in area businesses and non-profits to gain valuable real life work skills. Charlie loves working here, and we really enjoy having him as part of the Hawthorne Hotel TEAM!!
Now that we have won this state-level award, our team has been entered in the national competition for this same award given by the American Hotel and Lodging Association. So keep your fingers crossed for us!
Do you enjoy learning about some of the 'behind the scenes' things that happen here at the Hawthorne Hotel? We sincerely enjoy being part of the community of Salem, and opening up our doors to help make this a better place to live.
I hope to see you here.
