Another Garden You Should See in Salem

Nina Vickers was a long-time friend of the Hawthorne Hotel, and a very special friend of mine. When she passed away due to complications from breast cancer, a group of friends put a memorial up in 'her' garden -- a space that she thought needed some flowers, and so she just started planting things there.

The garden has been kept up by Stephen Hultgren since Nina left us, and I stopped by to see all the flowers which were the result of bulbs that he planted last fall.

I hope when you visit us in Salem, you will stop by Nina's Garden (maybe on your way out to the Willows for some popcorn from Hobbes?) If you love beautiful flowers, and lovely little spaces, you will not be disappointed.
The garden is on White Street, which is the first street to the right, just after the side street of the House of the Seven Gables. It is a very easy walk there from the Hawthorne Hotel.
I hope to see you here (or there!)

  1. First time commenter here. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog.

  2. Thanks for your kind words. Are there any articles you would like to see more of, any kind of topic related to visiting Salem and staying at the Hawthorne Hotel that I can cover for you? Let me know.

    Thanks again,
