  1. Since I first set foot in the Tavern in 1977 and down through the years, I have never ceased to be amazed and entertained by the Tavern's bartenders. They are arguably the hardest working tenders of bar in Salem ... maybe in the Commonwealth.

The Tavern's barkeep choreography is nothing less than flawless as they juggle a blizzard of orders, wash and unload scalding glasses, joke with the servers, keep running tabs and conversations with their rotation of bar guests, all of which ramps up on weekends and rises to a fever pitch when the Halloween crowds descend on Salem. Talk about grace under pressure ... no cool is ever lost.

Broadway's got nothin' on the production value and the show-must-go-on stars behind the bar at The Tavern. A must-see when you visit Salem and the Hawthorne Hotel any time of year.
