Sail On In to the Hawthorne Hotel

Last week, one of our staff members, Jose Rivera, presented this ship model to the Hawthorne Hotel. He made this ship entirely on his own, carving and producing each part of it.

We named the ship the Quero, in honor of the clipper ship that carried the news of the defeat of the British at Lexington to King George. We're not sure this is at all a replica of that ship, but it honors the spirit of the fighting men of New England that helped establish this country.

If you are a faithful reader of this blog, you will already know about Jose, a member of our culinary team, who has a penchant for model ship building. He was featured here last year, when he showed us a work-in-progress. Now if you want to know more, you can check out the archives, because the article is still there. To make it easy, just do a search of our blog for Jose Rivera.

The Quero is currently on display outside of Nathaniel's Restaurant. We hope you will stop by to see it, and enjoy a delicious breakfast, brunch or dinner.
