Halloween Kicks off with parade in Salem, Massachusetts
Haunted Happenings Parade in Salem, Ma
The month-long celebration of Halloween that occurs each year here in Salem kicks off tomorrow night, Thursday, October 6 with the family event known as the Haunted Happenings Parade. This parade is produced by the Salem Chamber of Commerce, and has a number of sponsors, as you can see in the poster above.
The parade goes right past the Hawthorne Hotel, and ends in the Salem Common right next door. This is a great night to experience Salem, since many of the attractions are open late for 'Mayor's Night Out', and if you're lucky enough to be a Salem resident, they are free!
As you may know if you are a loyal follower of this BLOG, or if you have been in the Hotel, several of the scenes from the old Bewitched television series were filmed here in Salem, and the cast and crew stayed right here at the Hawthorne Hotel. Therefore, the fact that Erin Murphy (Tabitha in the cast of Bewitched) is coming to Salem to be the Grand Marshall of this parade should be of some interest to you. She will indeed be staying right here at the Hawthorne once again.
We hope to see you at the parade, and at the Hotel.
